 VOLUNTEER DRIVER

FOR MEALS-ON-WHEELS

 

DESCRIPTION:

Volunteers will be in contact with elderly and disabled individuals. A specific route will be assigned where there is an opening for a driver and when the volunteer is available. 
A map of the delivery area will be given to the Driver when meals are picked up. Volunteers will be picking up and loading their vehicles with insulated coolers 
containing the meals. An average route has approximately 15 homes.  If volunteers cannot drive on their scheduled shift, they are asked to notify the Volunteer 
Coordinator as soon as possible to allow enough time to find a substitute.   

 DATE AND TIMES NEEDED:

Monday through Friday
Designated day of week that volunteer is available/when a route is available.  Delivery 
of Meals-on-Wheels takes about one hour and meals are ready to be delivered at 10:30 a.m.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Attend Orientation training.

2.    Pick up meals between 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

3.    Deliver meals to the clients in their given area.

4.    Report concerns regarding clients or if they are not home to Volunteer Coordinator.

5.    Maintain confidentiality of client information.
