VOLUNTEER
DRIVER
FOR
MEALS-ON-WHEELS
DESCRIPTION:
- Volunteers will be in contact with elderly and
disabled individuals. A specific route will be assigned where there is an
opening for a driver and when the volunteer is available.
- A map of the
delivery area will be given to the Driver when meals are picked up.
Volunteers will be picking up and loading their vehicles with insulated
coolers
- containing the meals. An average route has approximately 15 homes. If volunteers cannot drive on their scheduled shift, they are
asked to notify the Volunteer
- Coordinator as soon as possible to allow
enough time to find a substitute.
DATE AND TIMES NEEDED:
- Monday through Friday
- Designated day of week that volunteer
is available/when a route is available.
Delivery
- of Meals-on-Wheels takes about one hour and meals are
ready to be delivered at 10:30 a.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attend
Orientation training.
2. Pick up meals
between 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
3. Deliver meals to the clients in their given area.
4. Report concerns regarding clients or if they are not home to Volunteer
Coordinator.
5. Maintain confidentiality of client information.
