The Foster Grandparent
Program offers seniors, age 55 and older with limited income, opportunities to serve as
mentors, tutors and companions with at-risk children. They
provide between twenty and thirty-five hours of service each week to schools and non-profit agencies. The volunteers will receive a modest
stipend, mileage, meals and insurance while on duty, a physical
examination and knowledge that they are opening hearts and opening minds
of some very precious children.
