The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors, age 60 and older, opportunities to serve as mentors, tutors and companions for children with special needs.  They provide twenty hours of service each week to schools, detention centers, group homes and youth centers.  The volunteers will receive a modest stipend, mileage, meals and insurance while on duty, a physical examination and knowledge that they are opening hearts and opening minds of some very precious children.
