What is Community & Senior Services?

Community & Senior Services (CSS) is a private, non-profit agency that offers a variety of programs designed to meet recognized needs in Midland, especially in the older population.

Who does Community & Senior Services Serve?

  • Many CSS services target the elderly and disabled, with an emphasis placed on serving individuals who are low-income, frail, and homebound.
  • CSS senior center activities and volunteer opportunities enhance the lives of active, older citizens.
  • Families and caregivers receive support and information from Community & Senior Services.
  • Persons of all ages gain a better understanding of the aging process through Community & Senior Services' educational and intergenerational programs.

What is the Community & Senior Services' Mission?

The mission of Community & Senior Services (CSS) is to improve the quality of life of Midlanders by providing an array of services to help them maintain health, dignity, and independence as they grow older.

Funding of Community & Senior Services?

Community & Senior Services is primarily funded by contributions made by local foundations, churches, corporations, and individuals, as well as the City of Midland, Midland County, the Texas Department on Aging, the Texas Department of Human Services, the United Way of Midland, and the Corporation for National Service.

The History of Community & Senior Services?

The Meals-on-Wheels Program began as an Outreach Project of the First Christian Church in 1974.  Community & Senior Services of Midland, Inc. was incorporated as a private, non-profit agency in 1982.  For a detailed history go to our History Page.
